original contemporary paintings

The Painting, “Big Sky”, started out as smaller sketches in pencil and paint.  I also took photos from a well known spot on Lake Nipissing.  The rocky outcrop at Sunset Point is a great place to stand and look out across this large lake.  When the wind picks up, the white caps stand out on the water’s dark surface and the clouds move fast across the sky. I painted this large dramatic skyscape painting in my studio using my photos, sketches, memory and imagination.
